Services: Tutoring and mentoring (remote and in-person)
1.1 "Anchored Support", "we", "us", "our" means Anchored Support.
1.2 "Client", "you", "your" means the individual purchasing or receiving Services.
1.3 "Services" means tutoring, mentoring, academic or learning support services provided by Anchored Support, whether delivered remotely or in person.
1.4 "Session" means any scheduled tutoring or mentoring appointment.
1.5 "Privately Funded Client" means a Client who pays for Services directly.
1.6 "DSA Student" means a Client whose Services are funded via the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) or other government funding.
2.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to all Services supplied by Anchored Support.
2.2 By submitting an enquiry form, confirming a booking by email, or attending a Session, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
2.3 These Terms apply to consumers only.
3.1 A contract is formed when we confirm your booking by email after receiving your enquiry or request.
3.2 We reserve the right to refuse any booking at our discretion.
3.3 Sessions are subject to tutor availability.
4.1 Privately Funded Clients: Payments must be made in advance via Stripe unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4.2 DSA Students: Payment is made via the relevant funding body and no direct payment is required from the Client unless notified in advance.
4.3 All fees are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
4.4 We reserve the right to increase our fees with reasonable notice. Fee increases will not affect Sessions already booked and paid for.
5.1 Privately Funded Clients
Sessions cancelled with more than 24 hours’ notice are eligible for a full refund or reschedule.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable.
If a Client is more than 15 minutes late to a Session, the Session will be cancelled and no refund will be issued.
Failure to attend a Session without notice will be treated as a late cancellation and charged in full.
Cancellation and non-attendance rules are governed by the relevant funding body’s policies. Late cancellations or non-attendance may be reported to the funding provider.
Where applicable, you have the right to cancel your contract within 14 days of booking under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, unless:
You have requested that Services begin within this 14‑day period, and
The Services have already been partially or fully delivered.
If Services have begun with your consent, any refund will be reduced to reflect the Services already provided.
6.1 Services may be delivered remotely (online) or in person, as agreed at the time of booking.
6.2 In-person Sessions are delivered in Worcester, Worcestershire unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6.3 You are responsible for ensuring you have suitable internet access, equipment, and a quiet environment for remote Sessions.
6.4 We will use reasonable care and skill in delivering all Services.
6.5 Minimum booking duration is one (1) hour per Session.
7.1 Services may be delivered by employees or self‑employed freelancers engaged by Anchored Support.
7.2 All tutors and mentors are vetted to appropriate standards for the Services provided.
7.3 Anchored Support remains responsible for the delivery of the Services to Clients regardless of whether Services are provided by freelancers.
8.1 You must provide accurate and complete information relevant to your support needs.
8.2 You must behave respectfully during Sessions. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate Services for abusive, inappropriate, or unsafe behaviour.
8.3 Clients may record Sessions for personal use only, provided the tutor or mentor is informed in advance of the recording.
9.1 We treat all Client information as confidential.
9.2 Personal data will be processed in accordance with UK data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.
9.3 Information may be shared only where required for safeguarding, legal, or funding compliance purposes.
10.1 Anchored Support is committed to safeguarding all Clients.
10.2 We may take appropriate action, including reporting to relevant authorities or funding bodies, where safeguarding concerns arise.
11.1 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for:
Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
Any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
11.2 Subject to clause 11.1, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Services shall be limited to the total fees paid by you to us in the preceding 12 months.
11.3 We are not liable for:
Any loss of profit, income, or opportunity;
Any indirect or consequential loss;
Actions taken by you as a result of advice or guidance provided during Sessions.
12.1 All materials provided by Anchored Support remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.
12.2 Materials are licensed for your personal use only and must not be shared, distributed, uploaded, or resold in any form.
13.1 We may suspend or terminate Services immediately if:
Payment is not received when due;
You materially breach these Terms; or
Your conduct places tutors, staff, or others at risk.
13.2 Upon termination, all outstanding fees remain payable.
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including illness, technical failures, severe weather, or government restrictions.
Any complaints should be submitted in writing by email. We aim to respond within 10 working days.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to your contract.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
